Where Care Took Form

This collection reflects part of my connection and work with The Betty Harris Homes, a space rooted in care, protection, and community support. Founded by my great aunt, Betty Harris, this work has remained personally meaningful to me and continues to shape how I understand service, stability, and the impact of creating spaces that truly hold people.

betty harris homes annual holiday toy drive

A reflection of The Betty Harris Homes’ legacy of care and community support, this annual toy drive helped bring holiday joy to children and families in need. Rooted in generosity, protection, and meaningful giving, the initiative served as a reminder of what it means to show up for a community with intention.

This annual toy drive reflects one of the ways I’ve continued supporting the legacy of The Betty Harris Homes through direct community care during the holiday season. Since the passing of my great aunt, Betty Harris, in 2021, I’ve remained involved in helping sustain these efforts by contributing time, money, resources, promotion, and hands-on support to help cover costs, organize donations, and distribute gifts to children and families in need. For me, this work is part of keeping her spirit of generosity alive in a way that remains practical, visible, and deeply rooted in community.

betty harris homes annual easter egg hunt

A reflection of The Betty Harris Homes’ legacy of care and community support, this annual Easter egg hunt brought together children and families for a day of celebration, joy, and shared connection. Rooted in intention and community-centered giving, the event offered more than just fun. It created space for belonging, memory, and togetherness.

The annual Easter egg hunt holds a different kind of joy for me. It’s one of the spaces where I get to help create play, excitement, and memory for the children and families who attend. In continuing the legacy of The Betty Harris Homes after my great aunt Betty Harris’s passing in 2021, I’ve supported these events through organizing help, promotion, donated time and resources, and by showing up in costume as characters for the kids. This work reflects my love for creating moments of care that feel light, imaginative, and full of life.
